Mike Byrne

I was born and raised in West Virginia. A passion for music has been an integral part of me from the beginning. After deciding on making that passion into a career, I went to Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating in 2015. From there, I stayed in Massachusetts to pursue my dream. I've been teaching lessons, performing in various bands, and honing studio engineering skills throughout my adult life. After meeting Jared, and performing alongside him for 4 years in a NEMA nominated band, the idea of forming a music production company started to take root. As the idea grew, we kept learning the tricks of the trade and honing the necessary skills to become successful entrepreneurs in the music business. Now Cape Caudio is the product of all the years of trials and hard work!

My story begins on Cape Cod, where I quickly found a love for music at an early age while watching my Dad perform in his band all over the peninsula and New England. When I was six, I took up drumming and singing, and around middle school learned to do both at the same time with an already healthy love of the singer-drummer greats like Phil Collins, Don Henley, and Levon Helm. With hand-me-down PA gear from my Dad, I also became the sound guy in all of the bands I was in throughout middle and high school and fell in love with live sound mixing. During and after college, I played with several Boston-area bands, including two different projects with Mike. It was around this time that I got the itch and built my first small studio in my basement, recording and mixing myself and some willing 'guinea pig' friends while I learned the ins and outs of the craft. The Cape couldn't keep me away though and I moved back here in 2019. I built an acoustically treated studio space in my house and started taking on clients and loving every minute of it. The stage also couldn't keep me away and when I moved back to the Cape, I helped form Nautilus and Summer Town, two bands that have been a blast to play with. Over the last couple of years, Mike and I have also been working with Grammy award-winning producer and blues guitarist Paul Nelson at the Music Room - recording, mixing, and producing for clients. Now that we're starting our own endeavor, I'm super excited to see where this will take us and I can't wait to help you make a beautiful record!
